Indonesian Airlines Granted Permission US Flights. Indonesian airlines have been granted permission to start operating flights to the United States of America. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that Indonesia now meets international safety standards and has been granted a Category 1 rating.
The new safety rating could open the door to the national airline Garuda Indonesia to start operating flights to the US - Antara news agency reported corporate communications vice president of the airline, Benny S. Butarbutar, saying that Garuda wants to start services to New York and Los Angeles, with two or three flights per week.
